Agencies ask “how many clients can one workspace manage?” as if Notion has a hidden client counter. It does not. What you hit instead: guest caps, permission confusion, filter theater, and PMs who are afraid to touch the Clients database. The limit is operational, not mystical.

What usually breaks first

If you have had a near-miss data exposure, a client stuck on guest invite friction, or a PM who maintains “client copies” of databases, you are already past twenty in spirit — even if the CRM says fourteen. Scale the access model before you scale headcount.
